Posted by Matthew Fradette on January 3, 2012

Shakti Butler, founder of World Trust, was interviewed on KPFA’s Hard Knock Radio on December 12, 2012 to discuss her latest film Cracking the Codes: The System of Inequity.  In this interview she discusses the structures in the United States that continue to perpetuate racial inequity, the history that has influenced our current system as well as the need for a new way to frame the discussion on race.

Cracking the Codes: The System of Racial Inequity addresses this need for a framework to discuss racial inequity by using the World Trust Frame of Inequity (see image below.)  The film seeks to promote conversation and deep understanding of the systems in place that continually impact our worldview and to inspire viewers into democratic action.
